ORFẼVRE were a band from Lyon, France that played a mixture of screamo and post-rock similar to other bands from the same scene/country like Daitro or Gantz. Their whole discography consists of only 8 songs, 2 of which are instrumental, but I jam some of these songs consistently. I discovered them a while ago while checking out the psychoviolence blogspot, which is a great resource for French screamo/hardcore, but unfortunately hasn't had any new posts in years. ORFẼVRE's first release was a 4 song demo called "Gholé kifach han dhél", and has my favorite material of theirs. It's a pretty straight forward French screamo release, but if you're familiar with that stuff then you know it's filled with great tense and depressing melodies. In 2010 they put out a split with Seila Chiara, which had 3 songs with more post-rock influence, even going into some post-metal territory on "S'enfuir n'a pas de logique". They had one last song called "Disparaître ici " featured on the Tokyo Jupiter Compilation II, which is all instrumental, but sounds like they were finally settling into their own groove, as it's possibly their best song, but unfortunately there's been nothing from them since.
